Beck’s Record Club

I find it Ironic considering my brother’s name is Beck that the first CD I ever owned was Beck’s sophomore album “Odelay.” I’ve always argued that Beck was the Godfather of the Hipsters. In my opinion he is one of the most creative artists of the 90’s, if not of the most recent decade as well.  Not only is his music unbelievable but his artwork (drawings, collages, photographs, collaborations) could easily act as a stand alone career for him. All and all Beck is the fucking man. Because of this, throughout the years Beck has had the chance to collaborate with some of the most interesting combinations of people including Bats for Lashes, Lykke Li, Seu Jorge, MGMT, Wilco. I could go on and on. His most recent project is called Beck’s Record Club. As quoted from his website its “an informal meeting of various musicians to record an album in a day…Nothing is rehearsed or arranged ahead of time.” Check out Beck’s Website to see, read and hear more: Looky Looky!

Also, here is one of my favs featuring Jack Black.
