“New Carpoolers”, a series by Alejandro Cartagena, reveals the private lives of Mexican construction workers carpooling from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey. These images of men piled into the back of flatbed trucks, is a sharp contrast to the volatile drug war raging south of the border. Working hard to earn their modest wages, pay their bills and live a legitimate life, these photographs provide a vignette of a dying lifestyle in Mexico.
